As the trip start and finish in Balikpapan airport, you will have great opportunity to explore east Borneo or Kalimantan, Indonesia. Staying at Samboja lodge with great apes surrounding the forest, observing tropical rainforest with soft jungle trek, watching long nose monkey at sungai hitam, another trek in sungai wain to observe the Bornean sun bear, Orangutan, and bird watching. And the highlight is trekking to mount Dar to observe the black orchid and enjoy overlooking east borneo scenery. you will see often of hornbill, eagle and other borneo creatures.

Itinerary
Day 01: Balikpapan - Airport - Samboja Lodge
Upon your arrival at Sepinggan Balikpapan airport, picked up by our local guide, meeting service then directly transfer to Samboja lodge for 1 hour. Arrived at Lodge, check in, short break and you may have the opportunity for the afternoon trekking to observing the Orangutans around the lodge as well as the other typical animal in east Borneo: Sun bear. This area is strictly for the Borneo Orangutans Survival (BOS) foundation which has been developing since 1992 in Borneo. The ranger will accompany you during this trekking. Afterward, back to the lodge for your accommodation. Lunch and Dinner provided at lodge restaurant.

Day 02: Samboja Lodge – Bukit Bangkirai - Sungai Hitam - Samboja Lodge
After Breakfast, morning walking to observe the Orangutans around the lodge, after lunch time at lodge, you will drive for 1 hour to Bukit bangkirai. Sightseeing and observing the tropical east Borneo rainforest with soft jungle treks to enjoy for the canopy bridge then canoeing to Sungai hitam river for silet canoeing watching the long nose monkey, Proboscis monkey (Natalis Lavartus). Back to lodge. Dinner at lodge.

Day 03: Samboja Lodge – Sungai Wain Trekking - Balikpapan Hotel
Breakfast at lodge, driving for 1 hour to visit Sungai wain forest, trek for 4 hours into the jungle observing sun bears, Orangutan and or bird watching. Drive back to balikpapan hotel, check in and resting. Dinner at local restaurant.

Day 04: Balikpapan Hotel - Modang - Doyam Seriam - Balikpapan
Breakfast, on boards a boat for 1 hour passing Balikpapan bay to Modang village and proceed by feet to Doyam seriam waterfall then climbing to Mount Dar(400Masl) for black orchid and enjoy the beautiful tropical scenery. Also other opportunity to see the horbill, eagle and other borneo creatures. Walk back to Modang village and return to Balikpapan hotel. Resting and enjoy dinner time.

Day 05: Hotel - Airport Balikpapan HOTEL
Breakfast at hotel then free time until we escort you to Balikpapan airport for your next destination. (B)
