First off, many thanks for a wonderful adventure. I gave some feedback to Mr Heru yesterday which he has hopefully shared with you. My comments were all positive as I had a brilliant time and rate Korindo highly. Thanks so much for doing such a great job on the organizational front and suffice to say I was also impressed by your staff and grateful to all for making my trip so enjoyable. I loved staying at Yoschi's too; it was so charming and I thus I found it very easy to relax there. Whilst the weather was unfortunate and made for the most unfavorable conditions I appreciated the beauty and dynamism of the volcanic landscape. I am definitely likely to use Korindo again, next time to explore somewhere new, and rest assured I will recommend your company to my friends.

I booked the Mount Semeru climbing from 14th 17th of May 2011 with Korindo, I found the overall level of service excellent and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the company to friends. Unfortunately the weather was horrendous but in truth it was a very enjoyable trip regardless. Bromo is incredible beautiful and it was very exciting to see an active volcano and was well looked after from my arrival at Surabaya airport ( Juanda ). Night through to my departure 3 days later. Yoschi was the perfect choice of accommodation and the Balinese style dwelling was most appealing. Highly rate this trip - many thanks to korindo. Angela Flynn

Semeru also Gunung Semeru - is the tallest mountain on the island of Java and one of its most active volcanoes. Known also as Mahameru (Great Mountain), it is very steep and rises abruptly above the coastal plains of eastern Java. Maars containing crater lakes have formed along a line through the summit. Semeru lies at the south end of the Tengger Volcanic Complex.

Semeru's eruptive history is extensive. Since 1818, at least 55 eruptions have been recorded (10 of which resulted in fatalities) consisting of both lava flows and pyroclastic flows.

Semeru has been in a state of near-constant eruption from 1967 to the present. At times, small eruptions happen every 10 minutes or so.

Semeru is regularly climbed by tourists, usually starting from the village of Rano Pani to the north, but though non-technical it can be dangerous.

Itinerary
Day 01: Surabaya Airport - Cemoro Lawang - Ranu Pane Camp(2200 mASL)
Upon arrival at Juanda Surabaya airport, you will pick up by our guide then directly transfer to cemoro lawang. Arrived, we start to walk to Ranu pane camping ground. Rest and overnight at tent.

Distances: Juanda Airport to Cemoro lawang by private car 3 hours and cemoro lawang to ranu pane by feet 1 hour.

Day 02: Ranu Pane camp - Kalimati Campsite(2700mASL)
Breakfast, then ready to have an adventurer to explore mount semeru slope. it takes 3 hours walk to reach another camp, Kalimati. where you will start next early morning reaching to mount semeru summit. arrived at Kalimati Campsite, resting and enjoy the view surrounding the volcano.

Day 03: Kalimati camp - Summit (3676m ASL) - Kalimati Campsite - Cemoro Lawang
Early morning wake up! We climb to the summit of Mount Semeru (3,676 M). Reach the crater’s rim in 2,5 hours walking, watch sunrise if arrive early. Taking photograph and some rest then descend down base camp for breakfast( Kalimati). Trekking back to Ranu pane then proceed to Cemoro lawang for another overnight at accommodation with hot shower, here you’ll appreciate the beauty of surrounding’s nature.

Day 04: Cemoro Lawang - Juanda Airport - Tour End
Breakfast, explore Cemoro lawang until we escort to Juanda airport.
