Raja Ampat Liveaboard Diving Cruise
The Shakti has been permanently based in Raja Ampat and
operating bi-monthly 12 day dive expeditions since 2002. No other
liveaboard has spent this much actual time in Raja Ampat.
Having extensively explored the region, the Shakti-team can offer
unique diving itineraries to genuinely unknown and pristine dive
sites.
The variety of diving environments ranges from intensely coloful
coral reefs to incredible underwater formations of limestone caves,
tunnels and archways.
On a Shakti-Cruise you are likely to see mantas and large schools of
fish on many of the current affected dive sites, but you will also
discover Raja Ampat greatest Makro-sites...
Shakti was launched in 2001.
Captain, owner and operator David Pagliari
It all started in Tanah Beru, a small village about 4 hours South
East from Makassar. This place got a long and interesting boat
building history.
You would think the first step of building a massive wooden boat
would probably be endless paper work, plans over plans and
constructions – but the Phinisi Schooner builders craft the boats
from centuries of oral tradition and instinct.
Together with a carpenter team of 14 Indonesians Shakti’s hull was
built within a year and a half.
After the hull was finished Dave spent a long time thinking about
all the little details for the interior, machinery, electronics,
navigation tools etc. and so it took him another year until Shakti
was ready to launch.
